Year 1 News

Time flies when we are busy learning, exploring and having lots of fun! We are already halfway through Term 3, and it has been a wonderful few weeks in Year 1!
Last week, we excitedly welcomed our much awaited Henny Penny Chickens to the classroom! We have been very excited to observe our new feathered friends and learn all about chickens. They are growing so quickly and are already beginning to look more like adult chickens!
As researchers, we have been developing our skills by gathering information through daily observations and reading informative texts. We are discovering more about chickens features, diet, habitat and life cycle, and uncovering lots of interesting facts along the way.
As writers, we are keeping our own chicken observation journals. Each day, we observe the chickens and record what we notice, think and wonder about our chickens. We are also adding interesting facts we have discovered through our research.
It has been wonderful to see everyone’s curiosity grow as we watch our chickens develop and change each day. We can’t wait to see what we discover this week!
