Principal's Report

Launch of Our Friday Co-Curricular Program
Last week, we launched our much-anticipated Friday Co-Curricular Program, offering students hands-on experiences in Vet Care, Digital Animation, Dance, Gardening, Bike Ed, Young Leaders, Young Mentors, MKR Cooking, and Healthy Habits Cooking. The level of engagement and excitement across all activities has been incredible, with students eager to dive into new skills and interests.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this program is the opportunity to partner with our parents, who have generously shared their time and expertise to enrich student learning. A huge thank you to our Term 1 parent volunteers: Kate Heading, Amy Holman, D'Arcy McFall, Kate Misra, Jess Longstaff, and Carly Lunt, who are leading workshops that immerse our students in real-world learning experiences. Your contributions make a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for your involvement.
Meet the Teacher BBQ & Resilience Project Information Evening
It was fantastic to see so many families at our Meet the Teacher BBQ and Resilience Project Information Evening. Building strong relationships between families and teachers is a key part of ensuring student success, and this event provided a great opportunity to connect, ask questions, and set the tone for a positive year ahead. It was great to have the opportunity to speak further to parents about The Resilience Project and the role it will play in our THRIVE Program in providing all students with an effective and evidence-based social/emotional learning curriculum. If you were not able to make the session, please check our the TRP Parent Hub.
District Swimming Success
Congratulations to our students who proudly represented ACPS at the District Swimming Carnival! Their determination, effort, and sportsmanship were outstanding, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they supported each other and gave their best in every race. A special mention to Piper, Alex and Anna who have qualified for Division—good luck!
Looking Ahead
With so much energy and enthusiasm already in Term 1, we are excited for the learning and experiences still to come. We have the following community events coming up and would love your support and participation.
2nd March - Run Warrandyte: It was great running as a group in a sea of ACPS tops last year and we would love to get another great turnout this year. Remember to register via Run Warrandyte Website. To help with arranging ACPS tops for the day can anyone participating as part of our ACPS Team please take a minute to complete the form: ACPS Run Warrandyte
29th March - Warrandyte Festival: We would love to get as many families as possible participating in the Saturday Morning Parade @ 10am. The Suessical Cast will perform on the Main Stage at 12:00pm.
We would also love your help in running our ACPS Food Stall. This is a major fundraiser for ACPS but does take many hands to help it run smoothly. Please add your name here if you can help: Warrandyte Festival Roster
4th April - ACPS Harmony Day Colour Run: We will be finishing our last day of Term by celebration Harmony Day and holding our annual Colour Run between 1 - 2:30pm. We would love parents to come along and join us by watching or helping out at a colour or water station to cover our students in coloured powder as they make their way through our obstacle course. Save the date with more info to come.
Thank you to our staff, students, and families for your ongoing support in making ACPS such a wonderful place to learn and grow
Have a wonderful weekend!

In Term 1, ACPS is excited to once again participate in Bake A Wish — a fun and easy way to help make wishes come true for seriously ill children through Make-A-Wish. It’s literally a piece of cake to get involved and make a difference!
Throughout the year, each grade will be able to host a Bake stall. We aim to raise at least $300 at each stall, and we’d love your support!
Every grade will be assigned a Monday to hold their bake sale. On your assigned date, please support your child in baking a school-friendly treat and dropping it off at the office before school starts.
The stalls will open after assembly, around 3:20 PM, and students can purchase the baked goods with all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish in Term 1. Here are the upcoming dates:
6B: 24th February
2D: 17th March
We can’t wait to see you join us in helping make wishes come true for kids who need it most!
In Term 2, we’ll be supporting other great causes, which we’ll announce soon. Stay tuned for more details!
