Senior School

Literacy & Maths

In the last two weeks, students have been diligently exploring a variety of exciting topics. In Writing, inspired by the captivating prompts from 'The Mysterious Harris Burdick' by Chris Van Allsburg, students have crafted imaginative stories with captivating openings and thrilling climaxes.

In Reading, students are sharpening their reading comprehension skills by practicing skimming and scanning to quickly locate key information within various texts. They are also developing their ability to summarise both fictional and non-fictional stories concisely and effectively. Be sure to check out their picture book summaries, displayed in the school library.

In Numeracy, students have embarked on a fascinating journey of number exploration. They have been delving into the world of prime, composite, square, and triangular numbers, uncovering intriguing patterns and relationships. Grade 6 students are currently reviewing decimal operations, while Grade 5 students are solidifying their understanding of common fractions.

Buddies

We have been unbelievably proud of how well our students have taken to their role of being a buddy to our Prep and Grade 1 students. The Grade 1s and 5s enjoyed a play-based learning session, as they got to know one another. We are looking forward to regular buddy sessions continuing throughout the year.

Meet the Teacher BBQ

It was wonderful meeting so many parents at the recent "Meet the Teacher" BBQ. These informal gatherings are invaluable opportunities to build strong relationships between teachers, students, and families. We appreciate the time and effort of all the families who attended.

District Swimming

Congratulations to all the Grade 5 and 6 students who represented our school at the Manningham District Swim Carnival last Monday, February 17th!

Competing against Serpell, Templestowe Heights, Templestowe Park, Our Ladies of the Pines, Millgate, and Warrandyte, all our swimmers demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, cheering on their teammates and congratulating their opponents.

A special congratulations to those who achieved personal best times and to those who have qualified to compete at Division. We are incredibly proud of your efforts and dedication.
