CBCA Book Week 2024 - Reading is Magic

Book Week celebrations will be held from the 19th - 23rd August and we will be celebrating with lots of fun activities including a cartoonist/illustrator talk by Mandy Ord for our Junior School students. All of the books in the Older Readers shortlist for the Book of the Year award are available to borrow from the library.

Library & Information Week 2024

Library and Information Week was held in libraries around Australia last week. The 2024 theme ‘Roots of democracy’ highlights the ways in which libraries better inform students about the issues that directly affect them and their rights (e.g. climate change, gender equality, online safety) and provide resources which teach students about voting, citizen engagement, parliament, protests and ensuring that students are media literate.

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Challenge is now open until 6th September. Students can check their Year Level Google Classrooms or pop into the library to find out more. To read the Premier’s letter to parents, view the booklist and for more information, visit https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge
