Wicked Excursion

On Wednesday 26th June the Year 9 Theatre Creation class went on an excursion to see the theatre production of Wicked at the Regent Theatre. Students undertaking Theatre Creation study production design, acting, lighting, sound and directing and use all of this knowledge to put on a production. By seeing a professional production they were able to experience the possibilities of theatre and where a career in the arts might lead them.

Having the opportunity to see Wicked for theatre was great because it was both engaging and entertaining. The performance itself was amazing from the costumes, to the singing to the set pieces, but the best part was being able to connect what we have learnt in theatre creation with components from an actual show. This made us appreciate what we had learnt so much more and the experience of seeing such an incredible performance was unforgettable.
