Drama Club

Plenty Campus

Jahnavi Srikantha, Year 10, Plenty Campus

The Plenty Campus 2024 Drama Club presented Accidents happen… and life goes on, a performance on 15th o August in the Sligo forum. Drama club this year was run by Ms MacEwen, a drama teacher at our campus with assistance from Emma Last, who is an alumnus of the school. The cast included 18 budding actors from Year 7 to 12 and we performed thirteen different items! The students have worked collaboratively in learning scripts and dedicating their time to rehearsals every Thursday after school and the Saturdays leading up to the show date. Drama club was an eye-opening experience to the world of theatre as we have learnt so much about acting, movement, interacting with each other on-stage and bringing the right energy to our performance. The night was a magical one where we shared our talents and hard work with the audience in the transformed Sligo forum (thanks to the help of Mr Callegari and the Performing Arts Staff). I am really looking forward to doing Drama Club in the years to come and encourage all students going into secondary school to participate next year!

 Mia Douglas, Year 10

My experience in Drama Club as a Year 10 student has been amazing. Since Years 7-10 came together for this, I was given the opportunity to meet new people since my return from UC and this has been a great way to get involved in the Ivanhoe community. I have made new friendships and bonded with others through our shared love of theatre. This has boosted my social ability and has made me more comfortable to meet new people. I have loved every second of every rehearsal and believe that the commitment of everyone is what brought such a successful show.
