Meet Our Art Captains!

A massive congratulations to our 2026 Art Captains, Tom and Eva, who have worked exceptionally hard over the years to deservingly be in the role of captaining the Art programme at Ivanhoe Grammar School. Here is an insight to their role: 

Tom, Year 12, Ridgeway Campus

Hi Everyone,

I’m Tom, one of your Art Captain’s for 2026, and here is a little introduction about me. A fun fact is that I’ve been surrounded by art since I was a small child, since both my parents are artists. I’ve been a part of the Ivanhoe Art program since year 7, being included in Art Club, participating in the subjects Art, VCD, PDT and Textiles. Over this year, I’ve been looking forward to fostering a strong sense of community especially in the Locksley area and in the visual arts, whilst also encouraging and helping other people express themselves creatively. A goal or aim that I have for the wider Ivanhoe community is to try and remove the notion that creative subjects aren’t as valuable or desired when in comparison to other subjects like Maths or Science.  

Eva, Year 12, Ridgeway Campus

Hi Everyone,

I’m Eva, one of your 2026 Art Captains. Arts has always played a part in my life, as I’ve participated in art clubs and programs for as long as I can remember. However, it wasn’t until Year 7 that I really  began to foster and develop my skills. This year, I’ve been excited to expand our art community and encourage people to experiment and engage with the arts. A goal or aim I have for the wider cohort is to increase awareness of the art programs like art club as they don’t often get as much publicity as other areas of the school. By doing this, I hope to encourage more people to get involved, creating a more diverse art community.
