Grade 1 News

 Welcome back to Term 2!

We hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable Easter break. It’s wonderful to see the children returning with such enthusiasm, ready for a new term of learning and growth.

This week in Religion, we have begun our unit on Pentecost. The children will explore the story of Pentecost and learn about the coming of the Holy Spirit. Through stories, discussions, and creative activities, they will begin to understand how the Holy Spirit helps guide and support us in our daily lives. We will also reflect on ways we can show kindness, courage, and love, just like the disciples did.

In Literacy, we will continue developing our reading and writing skills, with a focus on building confidence and expression. The students will explore a variety of texts and practise writing simple sentences using correct punctuation.

In Numeracy, are working on Place Value and counting, as well as exploring numbers in different ways. Students are exploring one less and one more than two and three digit numbers.

A reminder to please ensure that all belongings are clearly labelled, especially jumpers as the weather is quite cool in mornings and warms through the day, jumpers are on and off frequently and often get misplaced.

We are excited for a fantastic term ahead and look forward to all the learning and fun to come!

Warm regards,

Grade 1 Teachers
