State Volleyball

Maffra Secondary Intermediate boys played some of the most exciting, high-stilled volleyball at this years State event. Proving they belong at this elite level, the boys showed incredible grit by taking every single one of their matches to a thrilling three-sets. They refused to give up on a single play, diving for saves and setting up brilliant spikes under immense pressure.   In a massive testament to their skill, our boys were the only school in the entire tournament to win a set against the team that went on to become the overall State Champion.  While their volleyball skills were undeniable, it was their attitude off and on the court that truly stole the show.  At the conclusion of the tournament, the Maffra Secondary College team was officially awarded the Sports Spirit Award for the Day! This prestigious honor is voted on by officials and referees, given to the team that displays the highest level of sportsmanship, respect, and positive attitude throughout the competition. Winning sets is fantastic, but winning the respect of the officials and your opponents for your attitude and integrity is the ultimate achievement.  A huge congratulations to the Intermediate Boys team for representing our school with such pride, passion, and class.
