French

A friendly reminder that we have a French Day coming up next Teusday 1st April. The students are all invited to come to school dressed up in something 'French' or French themed. There will be French activities in classrooms throughout the day and a French Disco in the Amphitheatre at lunchtime. We're looking forward to a fun day of celebration!
The Prep students have been learning about clours in French, fcussing on the primary colours of bleu (blue), rouge (red) and jaune (yellow). WE have also been learning names of body parts by singing the French version of 'Heads, shoulders, knees and toes.
Students in grade 3/4 have been finishing the drafts of their family booklets, ready to create their CATs over the next few French sessions. We have been looking at naming family members and describing them. Students have been learning grammar rules and using a variety of verbs in their sentences.
Students in grade 5/6 have also been finishing the drafts of their travel brochures to different French speaking countries. They have researched different aspects of their country, geographical location, cultural celebrations, weather, tourism activities and different ways people greet each other. They will compile all their research into a Common Assessment Task over the next few French sessions as well, showcasing their research skills and French grammar skills that we have learnt during this unit.
