Year 9 English Squizzy Taylor Walking Tour

Ms Kami Gillick-Lewis

On March 3rd year 9 English students ventured into Melbourne city for a 1920s Squizzy Taylor themed tour around Melbourne’s cobble stoned laneways. With students plucking an identity of a 1920s historical figure from a paper pile, students had the opportunity to link real artefacts to the text study of ‘Runner’ by Robert Newton.

The feedback from the walking tour hosts highlighted the “excellent reading skills” of our Year 9 students at the college. Overall, students upheld the college values of Respect, Aspiration, Courage and Equality and the overall participation in the program showed a strong commitment to the English curriculum. Well done!

A special thank you to all the teachers and support staff who participated on the day.
