School Council
School Councils play a key role in Victorian government schools, and being a member of the school council is a rewarding and challenging experience. Acting as a team, council supports the principal to provide the best possible educational outcomes for students.
Each councillor brings their own valuable life skills and knowledge to the role. Councillors participate in developing the broad direction and vision for the school, interpreting data or financial statements, and understanding legislative and policy requirements.

College Leaders’ Induction Ceremony
Our college leaders were inducted into their positions on Wednesday 12th March. Parents and families attended the event. The Mayor of Banyule, Cr Elizabeth Nealy was our special guest and along with our School Council President, Kate Lansbury they presented the student leaders with their certificates and badges.
The students have been selected as leaders amongst their peers. Great responsibility comes with leadership; it is not a title; it is a behaviour. As leaders they can:
develop themselves personally
contribute to the broader school community
be role models for their peers
influence policies, practices and people
and represent the College.
Already these students have been leading in several ways through:
School tours
Swimming and Athletics Carnivals and
Giving feedback to the leadership
We are already proud of these young people.
I would like to congratulate all our Leaders and urge you to be the best leader you can be, to be the best learner you can be and to be the best person you can be during your leadership tenure at Greensborough College and into the future.
A list of all college leaders is in this issue.
