Assistant Principal's Report

Mr Louis Turner - Inclusion, Wellbeing & Engagement AP

Congratulations on a fantastic Term One!

Congratulations to all our students and staff on a fantastic start to the 2025 school year. I hope you enjoy a fun and restful break with plenty of time spent with family and friends.

There has been a lot to celebrate this term. One standout has been the way our students have lived out our school values of courage, aspiration, respect, and equality. Nearly 4,000 positive behaviour merits have been awarded, with our Year 7 cohort leading the way with an impressive 1,188 merits. We’re looking forward to seeing students exchange these for rewards in the first week of Term Two!

We also marked the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination as part of Harmony Week. It was wonderful to see so many students wearing orange and engaging in lunchtime activities. This day is a powerful reminder of the strength we draw from the diversity and inclusion within our school, and it aligns beautifully with our core value of equality.

Attendance has been a strong focus this term, and it’s been great to see improvement. Average days of absence per student have decreased, and overall attendance has increased. Thank you to families for accounting for absences on Compass and for working with our year level leaders to support strong attendance — every day really does count.

Our facilities team has also had a busy and productive term. We’ve refurbished classrooms, created new learning spaces, and upgraded staff areas. Most excitingly, major progress has been made in enhancing our performing arts space. With new stage curtains, lighting upgrades, a new screen, and an updated audio-visual system, our performing arts and music programs are set to thrive.

Thank you once again for a great term. Enjoy the break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for a successful term two!
