Dance Night
On Tuesday 8 September, St Norbert College held its annual Dance Night in the Xanten Theatre. Over 100 students performed on stage, proudly representing the College’s Dance Program through both coursework and co-curricular opportunities.
The audience witnessed a dynamic and diverse range of dance styles, including contemporary, jazz, hip hop, Bollywood, African, lyrical and more. Throughout the evening, students explored a variety of themes, dancing about love and loss, celebrating upbeat energy, travelling through the decades and showcasing different cultures and perspectives.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the staff who contributed to the successful running of the evening. A special acknowledgement to Miss Zampino for stage management and for her incredible work with the Hip Hop Crew throughout the year, Mr Di Labio for operating the sound, Ms Cassidy for her event oversight, Ms Harvey for running front of house, and Mr Newell for capturing the evening through photography. I would also like to thank the many staff who assisted with ushering and supervising students backstage to ensure the evening ran smoothly.
Thank you also to our families and friends for their continued support of our students and the Dance Program. Your encouragement and enthusiasm make opportunities such as Dance Night so special.
Most importantly, congratulations to all of our Dance students. It has been wonderful to see your hard work, passion and dedication come together on stage. You should be very proud of what you have achieved.
Looking forward to what 2027 will bring.
Happy Dancing!

SoNiC Music Fest
Another successful year of SoNiC Music Fest at Vision Studios this year, with our awesome Cert III bands Gamble on a Setlist and Aspire 127 lighting up the stage.
Thank you to our wonderful Cert III students for showcasing their talents and everything they’ve learnt about the world of a gigging musician.
Special thanks goes to our three special guest bands: Year 12 band Inertia, Year 10 band Dollz and Year 9 band Pistols and Petunias for warming up the crowd and their dedication to learning their tunes, using recess and lunch time to practice. I’m super proud of not just these bands, but all of our students who performed throughout the evening.
I’d personally like to also thank Year 12 students Cassie L, Marwin P, Nicole V and Emmeline A for assisting at the door and around the venue. Thank you to John at Vision Studios for conducting the sound desk and making our bands sound professional. Thank you to Ms Karen Cassidy, Mr Matt Wells and Mr Roger D’Almeida for assisting with supervision on the night, as well as Mr Jesse Newell for snapping some amazing pics featured here in the newsletter.
And finally, all the parents, family members, friends and students that came and supported our bands. You made the vibe as upbeat and electric as SoNiC always is. I'm so thankful for your support towards our young musicians and for giving them a positive experience in the world of live music performance.
Until next year!
Mr L Di Labio
