Get set for a big build

Another exciting term is under way in The Laurence Library, where the space has already become home to both new and experienced regulars.

First up, our Year 7 Lego Club has kicked off a big build. Following on from our Rivendell build last year, we have Barad-dûr from The Lord of the Rings for 2026. We can’t wait to see the tower take shape brick by brick over the coming months.

You might also notice a splash of colour around the library as we celebrate Lunar New Year. Decorations for the Year of the Horse are up and helping to brighten the space. Be sure to come in, look around, and enjoy what’s on offer. 

We are also excited to introduce a new face in the library: Miss Sarah Ramm. If you’re not sure what to read next, Sarah can help you find a book (or three!) and get involved in making our Library space a great place to learn, browse, and belong.

Finally, we will see the return of the Interhouse Readers’ Royale this year! It launches during House Week this term (Week 4) and runs right through to House Week in Term 2. Pop in, grab a book, and start earning points for your House. Points are awarded based on how many pages you read as well as the type of book you choose and every read counts!
