Mamma Mia!, Drama and Dance
At 7.40am today the cast and crew of our huge 2026 production Mamma Mia! was revealed. We wish to truly thank every single student who tried out for a role in the musical. It was an incredibly close race.
Today’s announcement capped off two weeks of auditions. Here’s how it unfolded:
Creative Team and Crew

Last week attracted more than 40 students - an incredible show of interest in the backstage and creative elements of the production. Students learned about the wide range of roles available across production, design and technical teams, and nominations were opened for leadership and specialist roles within the crew.
The enthusiasm, curiosity and professionalism shown by students highlights the strength of our creative community, and we are excited to see this talented team begin shaping the world of Mamma Mia! both onstage and behind the scenes.
Audition highlights
Year 7 Auditions
Our newest cohort tackled singing, dancing and drama, and the effort from every single student was outstanding. We were so impressed by their enthusiasm, bravery and willingness to give everything a go. A huge shout-out to our lead auditioners who supported and guided the Year 7s throughout the process. Their interpretative walks, positivity and encouragement made the experience fun, inclusive and memorable — an amazing effort, especially so close to camp!
Dance Auditions

Dance auditions absolutely took off with a bang! Students began with vocals to Money, Money, confidently deciphering musical scores with positivity and energy. They then performed pre-learned choreography before creating their own movement sequences, which was a highlight of the day. The creativity, versatility and talent on display were exceptional — well done, dancers!
Drama Auditions
Drama auditions had our largest turnout to date and were filled with energy, laughter and commitment. Students worked through vocal activities, rehearsed pre-learned blocking, and crafted scenes and characters collaboratively. The willingness to take risks and support one another made for a truly exciting audition experience.
Callbacks
Callbacks were held on Thursday, allowing students to take part in collaborative work and final character explorations before the big announcement today.

The leads are: Lua, Juliette, Naima, Sierra, Naz, Cooper, Lawson, Ericsson, Sophie, Darcey, Benji, James and Eli.
We look forward to introducing you to our cast and crew in coming weeks!

Year 12 Drama students participated in an incursion on Monday of Week 3 with specialist practitioner Taran Knight, taking part in a dynamic two-hour workshop exploring Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints approach.
The session focused on tempo, duration, kinaesthetic response and repetition, challenging students both mentally and physically. Students were pushed in their focus, stamina and responsiveness, while also having an absolute ball engaging in collaborative, high-energy practical work.
Dance Company auditions took place before school, with an incredible 80+ students stepping into the studio full of energy and excitement. Students learned an Avicii tribute routine, and the atmosphere was electric, loads of fun, big movement, and serious hype to start the day. The passion and commitment shown by students across year levels was outstanding and reflects the continued growth of our dance program.

We are also thrilled to introduce Chelsy, our 2026 Middle Dance Company Peripatetic. With the expansion of the program and strong student interest, this role allows students to continue developing their skills within the company pathway. Chelsy is a specialist dance teacher who has taught in her dance studio and danced her whole life and is also a 2025 alumni. We are delighted to welcome her back to the school to develop the Middle Dance Company’s skills and choreography throughout the year..
