2026 Classes
I understand that families are eagerly awaiting the announcement of teaching allocations for 2026. I further acknowledge that previously, this was announced earlier in Term 4.
Due to us having to seek new staff for 2026 (as we have some staff on extended leave or due to take leave in the new year), we are unable to allocate teachers to grades and specialist classes until the recruitment process is finalised. This should occur within the next week or so.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, you are welcome to contact me regarding placement of your child/ren into 2026 classes if you believe you have a particular reason for wanting a particular grouping or teacher. Whilst I will not be able to accommodate all requests, I will do my best.
Report Writing Day
Friday November 28th is a pupil free day. On this day staff will be finalising assessments and reports. Students do not attend school on this day.
OSHC
In consultation with TheirCare and the Department of Education the decision has been made to cease the operation of the morning TheirCare program at LCS from the beginning of 2026. TheirCare will continue to operate as normal until the end of this school year. Commencing January 28th, 2026 TheirCare will operate after school care only. This decision has been made due to low attendance numbers, and insufficient funding.
Any questions can be direct to TheirCare on 1300 072 410.
Year 6 Graduation and Awards Ceremonies
Please mark Wednesday December 17th at 2pm in your diaries, as this is when we are hosting our Graduation for our Year 6 classes and will be announcing our 2025 awards winners and scholarships. We will also officially present our 2026 School Captains and Sports Captains to our school community.
Please arrive by 1.50pm in time to find a seat and so we can commence on time.
Families of Year 6 students will receive a Xuno notification regarding special arrangements for our graduates on this day. Similarly, if your child will be receiving an award, you will be contacted before the day.
Please remember that you are welcome to take photos of your own child/ren, however we have some students who are not to have their photos on Social Media, so posting photos with students other than your own is not permitted. Our school only ever posts students with written consent from parents to be on our platforms (newsletter, Facebook etc) and we will ensure that we follow this procedure on this day, just as we would any other.
Boys To The Bush Program
Our ten students who have been attending this weekly program are having a wonderful time and fully embracing all that the program has to offer. They have been fishing, to the gym, worked on community projects and toured locally. In addition to their field trips the boys participate in discussions around how they can demonstrate respect, engagement and community.
School Council
Our final School Council Meeting for 2025 will be held on Tuesday November 25th at 6pm on site.
That is all for this week, Lisa Duffy.
