Year 5/6 News 

Buddies:

Last week, the Prep students visited their Grade 6 buddies to share the narratives they had written. Each Prep student had carefully researched their buddy, using them as the main character in their story. The Grade 6 students were delighted to hear how creatively they were represented and were especially impressed by the Prep students’ sizzling starts, which immediately captured their attention. It was a wonderful celebration of creativity, connection, and storytelling between the youngest and oldest members of the school community.

Headspace:

This week, Headspace Echuca visited our school to chat with students about the transition to high school. They talked about what to expect, how to handle change, and ways to look after your mental health during this exciting time.

The team reminded everyone that it’s normal to feel nervous or unsure about new routines and friendships — and that help is always available.

Maths:

In maths, students have begun planning their business ideas for their stalls as part of a practical project that combines mathematical skills with real-world application. They will choose a product or service to sell, estimate costs, set prices, and calculate potential profits.
