Prep News

READING 

This fortnight the Preps have been learning how to make inferences when they read. Inferring is when we search for clues to gather information that is not in the text. We have been learning to look at the characters to discover how they are feeling.

WRITING

The Preps wrote, illustrated, read and gifted their Grade 6 buddies the narratives they wrote about them. The buddies loved them!!!

MATHS

In Maths we have been learning about measuring time. We have discussed concepts such as century, decade, year, seasons, months, week, days, am/pm, hours, minutes, seconds.

We have also been talking about telling the time on an analogue and digital clock. Some have even mastered the concept of half past the hour.

COOKING IN ART

As part of the fairytale Inquiry unit, Mrs Connors has been cooking gingerbread men in Art. We ate some and took some home!!

POP INTO PREP

The preps enjoyed a visit from the kinder kids last week. They enjoyed showing them around the Prep room and explaining the Zones of regulation and strategies to stay in the Green Zone.
