Readers Cup Success
Last week, our St Stephen's Readers Cup team joined 14 teams from across the region for the annual Readers Cup competition. It was a very close contest, particularly among the top-performing teams, with only a small margin separating the leading schools.
Congratulations to St Monica's, who were crowned this year's winners.
We are incredibly proud of our wonderful St Stephen's team, who represented our school with enthusiasm, determination and teamwork throughout the competition. Readers Cup challenges students to read widely, often beyond their usual comfort zones, and to work collaboratively to answer detailed questions on a diverse range of texts. Our team embraced this challenge and did themselves proud.
Thank you to all the schools that participated and their teachers and staff who helped facilitate this wonderful day.
Thank you to Tableland Books for supporting this event.
Looking Ahead: Book Week 2026
The next major event on the library calendar is Book Week, which will be celebrated throughout Week 7, Aug 24- 28. We have an exciting program of activities planned for students and staff.
Leading the celebrations will be our Cake Decorating Competition, where participants can showcase their creativity inspired by books and reading.
Other Book Week activities will include:
- A Literature and Music Kahoot
- Jam in the Junction
- A Book Week Scavenger Hunt
And, to conclude the week, the ever-popular Year 12 Dress-Up Parade during Assembly
We look forward to another fantastic week of celebrating books, reading and creativity across our school community. Be sure to keep an eye out for further details and start planning your Book Week costumes and cake creations!
Happy reading!
