Tablelands District Track and Field Carnival

Overall Champion School Winners

On Thursday 6 August and Friday 7 August, selected students from St Stephen's Catholic College travelled to Dimbulah State School to compete in the annual Tablelands District Track and Field Carnival. The two-day event brought together athletes from schools across the Tablelands region, including Malanda SHS, Mareeba SHS, Atherton SHS, Dimbulah SS, Ravenshoe SS, Cooktown SHS, Endeavour Christian College, Mount Saint Bernard College, and Jubilee Christian College.

Students were selected to represent St Stephen's based on their performances at our Interhouse Athletics Carnival held in Term 2. Competing against some of the region's best athletes, our students demonstrated great determination, sportsmanship, and school pride throughout the carnival.

There were many excellent individual performances across the two days, with several St Stephen's students achieving outstanding results in their respective age groups. Congratulations to the following students who were named Age Champions:

Students who placed in the top four of their individual events have been selected to represent the Tablelands District at the Peninsula Track & Field Championships, to be held at Barlow Park, Cairns, on Sunday 23 August and Monday 24 August. We wish all our selected St Stephen's students the very best of luck at Peninsula.

Collectively, the St Stephen's students performed exceptionally well, earning the Overall Champion School Trophy. This achievement continues a proud tradition for St Stephen's, with the College also claiming the title in 2025, 2022 and 2019.

Congratulations to all students for their outstanding efforts and sportsmanship.

Kind regards,

Mr Jason Atkins | Middle Leader Sports and Activities
