Farewell Mr Cartwright

Next Friday, the 3rd of July will be Mr Dean Cartwright’s last day at the College. Dean has worked at Mater Dei since  2021  as a teacher of Mathematics and Homegroup teacher of Webber 8.

During his time at the College, Dean has been a highly valued member of staff. His wisdom, compassion, curiosity and generosity have had a significant impact on the lives of many people in our community. In particular, our students remember fondly:

- His breaktime participation in basketball and handball games

- The cryptic puzzles he set during Maths Week and on the Year 12 Retreat

- His participation and mentoring on the Year 9 boys’ community building retreat

- Regular participation in House events such as our College carnivals

- His passion for disc golf

Above all, Mr Cartwright is an exemplary role model for young people. He embodies a well-rounded approach to life, full of virtue and embracing all that life has to offer. 

We wish Mr Cartwright all the best in retirement and thank him for the service he has given to our community.
