Committee 4 Wagga
The Committee 4 Wagga Student Leaders Graduation was held on Friday, 12 June, celebrating the achievements and growth of the participating students throughout the program.
Congratulations to Sienna Heffernan, Stephanie Shaw and Samuel Thomson, who did a remarkable job showcasing their experiences and personal growth by delivering speeches to the Committee 4 Wagga members, mentors, fellow participating students, the Mayor of Wagga Wagga, Dallas Tout, parents, teachers and invited guests.
The growth in knowledge and confidence in public speaking by all students involved was impressive and we look forward to hearing from Sienna, Steph and Samuel as they continue to develop their leadership skills in the Mater Dei community.

Homegroup Challenges
Congratulations to Sherrin 2 who took out the 2026 Tunnel Ball Homegroup challenge!
Compulsory School Attendance Information for Parents / Carers
Please find attached information from the Catholic Education Office of Wagga Wagga regarding compulsory school attendance. A reminder that school commences at 8:45am for Homegroup.
Student Lockers
Students are reminded that all locks must be removed from lockers and all possessions taken home by Friday July 3. Students wanting a locker in Term 3 will be able to sign up, then be allocated a locker number to put their own lock on. We hope that our new lockers will arrive in the holidays so there will be enough for everyone who would like to sign up.
2027 Student Leadership Launch
On Tuesday 30 June we will launch the process for Student Leadership for Year 12 2027. Students will learn about leadership qualities, hear stories from current Leaders, explore the application process and talk with the current Mater Dei College, House and Boarding Captains who can help support their journey.
We hope many of our senior students will put themselves forward and enjoy the experience of applying for student leadership.
Friday 3 July - Mufti Day Friday
On Friday 3 July, the College community will come together to support two meaningful initiatives:
Beanies for Brain Cancer
Beanies for Brain Cancer has been close to our hearts for many years, and we encourage students to wear a beanie with their mufti outfit to raise awareness and support this important cause.
Brave the Shave
At lunchtime, the College will host a student-led event in the hall to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House, an organisation that has supported a number of our College families, most recently the Umback family.
Inspired by Pat Umback's story, fellow student Lacey Somerville has organised a Brave the Shave event, with a number of students already gathering sponsorship, as they prepare to courageously cut or shave their hair in support of this great cause.

An incredible $4000 has already been raised, showing the generosity and compassion of our College community.
The College is grateful to the professionals at Razor Lane who will be generously donating their time and skills to make this event possible.
For a gold coin donation students are able to watch those "Braving the Shave".
We look forward seeing our Mater Dei community come together to show compassion, generosity and support for these two wonderful initiatives. Parents / Carers are warmly invited to attend from 1:30pm.
