Journey Book Club
Members of our Journey Book Club gathered this week over a hot chip lunch and enjoyed the amazing opportunity to meet Australian author Vanessa Len via zoom.
Vanessa Len is an internationally bestselling author and educational editor. Her debut novel, Only a Monster, won the 2022 Aurealis Award for Best Young Adult Novel and has been translated into nine languages. The story continues in the sequels are Never a Hero and Never A Villain.
Students enjoyed engaging in a thoughtful conversation with Vanessa, asking insightful questions about her writing journey, inspiration, and the process of creating her popular fantasy series. Vanessa generously shared her experiences and encouraged students in their own reading and creative pursuits.
The next read chosen for Journey Book Club is The Game of Oaths:
Set in the glamour and mystery of the Belle Époque era, this thrilling fantasy follows seventeen-year-old trapeze artist Falan Sunkara as she enters a deadly magical tournament beneath a Parisian circus.
Driven by revenge after her sister's death, Falan must navigate danger, deception and uncertain alliances as she fights to survive and uncover who she can trust.
Students are looking forward to exploring this exciting tale of magic, courage and mystery in their next book club discussion.
