Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day
This year Jells Park Primary School will be participating in Clean Up Australia Day.
This initiative has been running for 36 years and their mission is to inspire and mobilise communities to care for and protect our environment, eliminate litter, and end waste.
What started as a simple idea from an “average Australian” wanting to make a difference in his own backyard, has now grown to become the nation's largest community-based environmental event. More than 21 million Aussies have participated in Clean Up Australia activities and events over the past three decades and focuses on preventing rubbish entering and accumulating within our environment.
This year at Jells Park students will be asked to bring gloves and tongs and do their bit for the environment on Friday 27th February.
This year’s theme is “ Get your gloves on and give back to the place we call home”
Each year level will be given a designed area within the school for junior classes to sections of Scotchman’s trail for the senior years.
Please ensure your local excursions permission is signed for your child to attend.
Any student without local permission will stay at the school and help Foundation - Level 2.
Clean Up Australia Day shows what we can achieve when we all pitch in together, it’s not just about picking up litter, it's about caring for the places we live, play and love. It’s great opportunity for our kids to get involved and build lifelong habits that help protect our environment.
