“If every area is supported, we’re able to be happy, healthy, and fly from the nest”

‘The Nest’ highlights six factors that can impact positive mental health, these are:

  • Identity and Culture
  • A positive sense of culture and identity, particularly Aboriginal & Torres Islander children and children who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
  • Healthy
  • Physical, developmental, physiological and mental health needs are met. There is access to service and early intervention.
  • Learning
  • Wellbeing is enhanced when children participate in, and experience and education that enables them to reach their full potential.
  • Participating
  • Children' s views are considered and they are involved in the decision making process that affects them.
  • Value, loved and safe
  • Children have positive family connections and peer connections.
