Permissions

Families should have received 4 Sentral notifications for you to give permission for your child/ren around 4 main topics:
- Headlice Inspection
- Learning Technologies Consent
- Local Excursion Permission
Publicity Consent
All these permission are required to be completed by parents as soon as possible.
Thank you to those families who have already completed these forms.
Below are examples of what the consents mean for child/ren:
Headlice Inspection
Permission for Head Lice Inspections allows a staff member to physically examine your child’s hair and scalp if head lice are suspected. This may involve gently touching your child’s head to check for lice or eggs (nits).
If this permission is not provided and head lice are suspected, parents/carers will be contacted and asked to collect their child from school.
To avoid headlice, students should have their hair tied up and away from their face when long enough.
Learning Technologies
This gives consent for you child to participate in weekly Digital Technology classes as well as using their own and school laptops during the day. This is extremely important for our Level 3 and 5 NAPLAN testing which is happening later this term.
If you do not give permission for this, your child will not be able to participate in DT classes or use not only the school laptops during the year but also will not be able to connect to the school's network via their own personal device.
Local Excursions Permission
During the year, classes and year levels will participate in activities which may take the students off-site within our local community. These may include:-
- Sport Games in the parklands across the road
- SWPBS rewards in Jells Park
- Cross Country Events in the Parklands and Jells Park
- Concert rehersals and matinee performance at Caulfield Grammar School
If you do not give permission for this consent, your child will not be able to participate and remain at school, (supervised) for these events.
Publicity Consent
Department of Education has broken this up into 3 different consent:
- Image use within the physical school environment
These photos will be used for displays in school classrooms and our school office which will include our class photo books.
- Image use within the school community
These photos and videos may be used in any online learning platforms
- eg. Google Classroom which is only accessible by teachers, parents and students
- The Level 6 students will collect photos of themselves throughout their time at JPPS for their own personal Level 6 Graduation Video
- Photos taken at assembly and to promote fundraisers/events within the school
Students' Presentations requiring student photos/videos
- Use of images beyond the school community/publicity
This will include photos to be used on our school Facebook page, school newsletter and website as these items are able to be seen by the public.
It will also impact the film of the school events eg: the End of Year Concert, School Assemblies (ie badge presentations, awards and class led assemblies), Open Night Performances and the Performing Arts Showcase.
We hope this has helped make your decisions based on these above consents.
If you feel that your choices have changed based on this information, please log back onto the Sentral App and make the necessary changes to the permissions.
If you haven't completed these permissions yet, please do so by Monday 23 February.
Anyone student without a response after this date will be treated as no permission given.
Regards
