Performing Arts News

What an exciting time it’s been in Performing Arts to start off 2026.

We have been busy learning about rhythm, dancing and a little bit of silly singing!

Foundation have settled in and have been learning a song about a cow named Daisy, dancing and have just begun learning about basic rhythms.

Levels 1 and 2 have been revising their rhythm skills from previous years and have been playing the Roll and Write game to create their own rhythm patterns to then play with percussion instruments.

Level 3 to 6 have been playing rhythm rotations with a variety of fun rhythm games, as well as beginning their new instruments for the year. Level 3 will be focusing on the xylophone, Level 4 on the mini keyboards, Level 5 on the ukuleles and the Level 6 students on the ukuleles and the guitars!

Choir will start back next week on Friday at lunchtime in the Performing Arts room. We will be learning a song to perform at the Art Show/Open Night! Remember - Term 1 is for Level 1 - 6 students. We invite Foundation to join the Whole School Choir in Term 2!

24 students in Level 4 have signed up for the State School Spectacular Mass Choir for 2026 and are keen to begin learning their songs, ready to perform at John Cain Arena in August.

Watch this space for more exciting updates as the year progresses!
