Parent Contributions

Could I ask all families to consider payment of their Parent Contributions for 2026.

We are currently sitting at only 34% of families having made a contribution. Thank you to those families who have paid and I hope that other families can consider doing so.

These resources are vital to the school and are used to provide the extended curriculum and upgrade the facilities here at Jells Park PS and we greatly appreciate your support.

Contribution payments can be made via the QKR app.

Some recent evidence of the works we do is the new concrete out the front of the main building. We couldn't do this without the recourses contributed by families.

School Council

Please see the Notice for School Council in 'School News' of this newsletter.

As always we are interested in parent contribution and involvement in the operations of the school. Please consider being part of School Council. If you wish to know more about the role, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Kellie Stewart.

Important Reminders / notes:

Child Safety & School Security: REPEAT - PLEASE READ - We have provided a page of standards and expectations around 'Child Safety & Security at School' in the last newsletter. We ask that all parents have a read.

Please note particularly the requirements for parents to leave the school by 9.15am and not arrive at school before 3.15pm, and that we will be locking some gates to prevent unauthorised access during the day.

I am sure that families understand the need for the school to monitor and manage the adults on the premises during school time!!

Happy Chinese New Year!

As we welcome the Year of the Dragon, we extend our warmest wishes to all JPPS families celebrating Chinese New Year. This festival—also known as the Spring Festival—has been observed for thousands of years and is deeply rooted in traditions that honour family, renewal and good fortune.

The celebration originally began as a time to mark the end of winter and to prepare for a fresh start in the year ahead. Many familiar customs, such as lanterns, lion dances, and the giving of red envelopes, grew from ancient beliefs about bringing luck and driving away misfortune.

May the year ahead be filled with good health and happiness for our staff, students and families!

Ramadan Mubarak

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, we extend our warmest wishes to all members of our school community who are observing this special time. Ramadan is a month of reflection, compassion, self-discipline, and togetherness.

We especially want to acknowledge and support our students who will be fasting. Your commitment and resilience during this period is admirable. Our staff are mindful of the needs of students who may be fasting, and we encourage anyone who needs assistance, a quiet space, or additional understanding to speak with a trusted teacher or team member.

To all families observing, we wish you a peaceful afulfilling Ramadan.

Annual Privacy Reminder

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.

We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

For more information about privacy, refer to: Schools’ privacy policy: information for parents. This information is also available in eleven community languages.

Have a wonderful weekend!
