Remembrance Day Services
Middle Primary and Senior Primary Leaders as well as our Tribal Leaders attended

whilst the Primary School held a Service at school.
Our Year 6 leaders represented MECS Primary School with pride at the Mt Evelyn RSL Remembrance Day Service. Year 4 students also attended, with James, Hannah, Brydie and Emmanuel reading aloud the moving poem “I Went to See the Soldiers” by Kenny Martin. Harin and Isaiah laid a beautiful floral tribute on behalf of our school. The service was led by Mt Evelyn RSL President, Matthew Crymble, and featured stirring performances including the bagpipes and also The Last Post on bugle, creating a memorable and respectful occasion. We value being included in this important community event as it reminds us of the significance of honouring those who served and the importance of showing respect and support on Remembrance Day.
The SP Team
Welcome to the Primary Remembrance Day Assembly. World War One raged from 1914 - 1918. On the 11th day of the 11th month at 11:00am, a ceasefire was called, which became known as Armistice Day. This name was later changed to Remembrance Day.
Seth
All over the world, people stop at 11:00am for a minute’s silence to remember those who have been involved in war, and those who are working for peace, far away from their own families.
Flynn
We will remember the soldiers.
We will remember the nurses.
We will remember the animals who served.
We will remember the civilians.
We will remember those left behind.
Olivia
We will now listen to ‘The Last Post’. ‘The Last Post’ told the soldiers the day had ended. After the minute’s silence, we listened to ‘The Rouse’. This was used to wake the soldiers for another day. Lest We Forget.
Henley
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest We Forget

Please join us in prayer.
Father God, thank You for our defence forces. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no man than this: that one should lay down his life for his friends”. Thank You God, for Your constant message of love and peace. May we all try to live Your way. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, who showed us that we are loved so completely that He laid down His life for us. Amen
Alba
