News from the Kinder

Kinder has been a hive of activity as we have celebrated wonderful learning as a community. 

On Tuesday 11th November the K3 Bluebird and Rosella children participated in a session of storytelling with The Flying Bookworm Theatre Company. The room was full of wide smiles and joyful laughter as Emily and Chris presented three stories: Market Square, the Three Billy Goats Gruff and the Gingerbread man. They taught us how we need four things to make our own shows:

1. A favourite story to tell
2. Friends to help us
3. Costumes
4. Our Imagination

Chris even suggested that as long as we have our imagination, we can come up with anything. Everyone had a turn becoming an actor and a few friends got to use their skills in front of the group with Chris and Emily’s help.

We hope to see imaginations growing and ideas forming as the children have a go at acting out some stories through their play.

Then on Thursday 13th November we held our first ever Kinder Art Show. Every child had art work on display and families were able to purchase art by their favourite artist for a gold coin. All funds raised are going to our local CFA to support our focus on community connections and show our appreciation for how they help to keep us safe. We have raised about $350 and had over 230 people visit our art show. 

We wrapped up the week with Grandparents and Special Visitors Day on Friday 14th November. We LOVE seeing grandparents spend time with their grandchildren at Kinder. We had so many visitors it was hard to move! We even had some great grandparents as well. 

Our Kinder community truly is a special place!
