 A Fun-Filled Term of Learning!

We have had an exciting and productive term here in Year One, filled with engaging activities, hands-on learning, and plenty of fun! Here’s a look at some of the highlights of what we’ve been up to.

Maths: Place Value, Counting, and Games Galore!

This term, our maths focus has been on place value and counting. The students have been working hard to understand how numbers are made up and how to count accurately. We’ve enjoyed using a variety of resources to make learning these concepts hands-on and interactive. Whether it’s through games, manipulatives, or fun challenges, the students are developing a solid foundation in number sense.

Writing: Focusing on Our Writing Traits

In writing, we have been learning about the key Traits of Writing which include, Ideas, Organisation, Sentence Fluency, Word Choice, Conventions, Voice, and Presentation. The students have been practicing these as well as how to express their thoughts clearly and creatively when writing. It’s been wonderful to see them gain confidence in their writing abilities, and they are excited to continue developing their skills in the coming terms.

Colour Run and Fundraising Fun!

One of the most exciting events this term was our Colour Run! Not only was it a fun and vibrant day, but it also gave us the opportunity to raise funds for the new basketball courts. The students were thrilled to take part in such a lively event, and their enthusiasm for helping raise money for our school was inspiring. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and participated!

We wish you all a happy and safe Easter break and look forward to the next term of exciting learning ahead.
