100 Days of School!
We had such a wonderful day celebrating our Preps reaching the incredible milestone of 100 days of primary school on Monday 27 July!
It was fantastic to see all the creativity and effort that went into their ‘100-year-old person’ costumes. The students looked amazing and certainly made us smile.
Throughout the morning, we counted 100 objects and practised grouping them into sets of 10. We also created special crowns and enjoyed a delicious cupcake, thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers who baked for us.
We finished our celebrations with our poem performance at Assembly. We are incredibly proud of our brave Preps for confidently standing in front of the whole school and performing.
A big thank you to all our families for helping make this milestone such a special and memorable day for our students.

Animal Incursion
During the incursion on Thursday 13 August with Vince from Aussie Wildlife Displays, we met Boston the Black-headed Constrictor, Diego the Python, Martha the Blue-tongue Lizard, Gumnut the Shingleback Lizard, Steve the Squirrel Glider Possum, Ally the Wombat, Dennis the Black Cockatoo and Jack the Saltwater Crocodile. We had so much fun and learnt lots of exciting facts about these amazing animals!
Here is what some of the Prep’s had to say about it:
Ollie: I liked patting the animals.
Aaron: I liked holding the snake.
Archer: Feeling the scales of the snake was fun.
Ryan R: I loved the crocodile, His scales were bumpy.
Aysha: I liked the squirrel glider because it was so cute.
Mary: I liked the snake because I got to hold it around my neck.
Zion: I liked the cockatoo because it was so loud like this … GAAAK GAAAK GAAAK
Animal Diorama
To conclude this term’s 'Wonderful Wildlife' Integrated Unit, Prep students are to create an animal habitat diorama and presentation at home that will shared with their classmates at school. The diorama is due by Wednesday 2 September (Week 8). Students will present their project to the class during Weeks 9 and 10.
Parents are invited to an Open Afternoon in the Prep classrooms on Thursday 17 September. Each classroom will have an Animal Museum featuring the children’s dioramas.

Perceptual Motor Program (PMP)
The Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) has finished for this year. The children have loved PMP and have had so much fun taking part.
A huge thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time and helped us make this program possible. The children loved seeing our parent helpers each week. We have really appreciated all your support.
Swimming Program
The compulsory swimming program for Prep students is seven consecutive sessions in weeks 9 and 10 from Tuesday 8 September to Wednesday 16 September. Students will attend a 30 minute lesson each day at the Huntingtower Sports and Aquatic Centre (HSAC) Swim School in Mount Waverley.
The event notice will be published on Compass. Please process your consent and payment by the due date.
Please refer to the Swimming Program page in this newsletter for more detailed information, including a reminder to not order a Canteen lunch during the swimming program and provide extra brain food from home as the children get extra hungry.
Parent volunteers from each class are required to assist children get ready to return to school. Speak to your child’s teacher if you have completed the volunteer requirements and are available to assist.
If you are unable to volunteer, but would like to watch your child’s progress, parents of Prep students are welcome to attend HSAC but may not interact with their child at the pool and may not take photos or video.
