Monash Youth Music Festival Eisteddfod

Students in the Chamber Choir and Chorale performed at the 2026 Monash Youth Music Festival Eisteddfod on Monday 17 August held at the Salvation Army Waverley Temple in Glen Waverley.

On the 17th of August 2026, students in the Essex Heights Chamber and Chorale choir had the opportunity to take part in a competition at the Monash Youth Music Festival. Chamber choir performed ‘The bat’ and ‘Parrawang lifts the sky’ while Chorale performed “Red Dust Sky’ and ‘Listen to the rain’. Some of these songs explored deep understanding in aboriginal culture, and the others were upbeat and fun to learn.

The students put in great effort throughout the year and have showcased all their hard work during this competition. Chamber showed great dedication and passion while practising and placed third with an honourable mention. Although Chorale didn’t place, they put in an equal amount of commitment and integrity.

We hope that Essex Heights students continue to enjoy singing in the choirs and represent our school through the Monash Youth Music Festival in the future!
