Welcome to Week 4!
Year 6 have had a busy and exciting start to the term.
Literacy – Exploring A Ghost in My Suitcase
In Literacy, students are reading A Ghost in My Suitcase and discussing the importance of knowing their family history. They have begun writing persuasive texts about why understanding where we come from matters.
Mathematics – Data Representation and Interpretation
In Mathematics, our focus has shifted to collecting, representing, and interpreting data. Students have been working with a range of graphs and tables, learning how data can be used to inform decisions and communicate information clearly. They have been practising reading and creating different types of data displays and explaining what the data shows.
Humanities – Hemispheres, Time Zones & Climate Zones
In Humanities, we are exploring how Earth is divided into hemispheres, time zones, and climate zones, and how these influence the way people live.
Digital Safety – Ctrl Shift Sessions
Year 6 students have also been strengthening their digital literacy and safety skills through sessions with Ctrl Shift. These workshops have helped students explore a range of important topics such as online privacy, respectful communication, managing digital footprints, and making safe choices when navigating online spaces. Students have engaged thoughtfully with the discussions and are becoming more confident, responsible digital citizens.
