Chaplain's Corner

Dear Families,

Welcome to 2025! It has been a wonderful start to the year commencing with the blessing for our students by His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and fellow clergy.

As we enter the sacred season of Great Lent, we are reminded of the values that unify our community and guide our actions: Humility, Aspiration, Respect and Kindness. This time of reflection and spiritual growth invites us to deepen our faith and strengthen our bonds with one another.

Humility teaches us to approach our lives and our relationships with an open heart. In the spirit of Great Lent, we are encouraged to recognise our own limitations and to seek God’s guidance through prayer and self-examination. By cultivating Humility, we can foster an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

The value of Aspiration inspires us to strive for personal growth and spiritual development. Great Lent is a perfect time for setting spiritual goals. Whether through increased prayer, fasting, or acts of service, our aspirations can help us draw closer to God and live out our faith in everyday actions.

Respect is essential in nurturing a compassionate community. As we reflect on our words and actions this Lent, let us practice respect for one another, acknowledging the diverse journeys each of us are on. By honouring the dignity of every individual, we create a supportive atmosphere where everyone can thrive.

Lastly, Kindness serves as a powerful reminder of Christ's teachings. Throughout this Lent, let us reach out to those in need—offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm smile. Acts of kindness, no matter how small, can profoundly impact our school community and the surrounding world.

As we journey through Great Lent together, let us embrace these values wholeheartedly. They not only align with our spiritual practices but also enhance the fabric of our school community. Together, we can create a welcoming and nurturing environment for all families.

May this season be filled with blessings, growth, and a deeper commitment to living out our faith with humility, aspiration, respect, and kindness.

In Christ’s love,
