LOTE

As we step into another exciting school year, students in our Greek classes are thrilled to be back, immersing themselves in the beauty of the Greek language and culture.  Whether beginners or advanced learners, each student shares a passion for discovering the rich heritage of Hellenism.  From engaging lessons in Greek grammar to lively discussions about mythology, history, and traditions, our classes offer an enriching experience that connects us to our roots and broadens our perspectives.

One of the highlights of our return to Greek classes was celebrating International Greek Language Day. This special occasion, held annually on February 9th, honours the significance of the Greek language as a cornerstone of global civilisation. In our classrooms, we marked the day with various activities that reinforced our appreciation for the language and its impact on world literature, philosophy, and science.

Students showcased their linguistic skills through traditional songs and engaging storytelling sessions.  We explored famous Greek quotes, analysed their meanings, and reflected on how they continue to inspire us today.  Some classes even held interactive trivia games, testing their knowledge of Greek vocabulary, mythology, and historical figures.

The celebration of International Greek Language Day reminded us all of the value of learning Greek which is not just as a means of communication but as a way to understand the profound contributions of Greek civilization.  Our classes continue to be a space where students not only refine their language skills but also develop a lifelong appreciation for Hellenic culture.

With the rest of the year ahead, we look forward to many more exciting lessons, cultural experiences, and opportunities to strengthen our love for Greek.

Ζήτω η Ελληνική Γλώσσα!
