Dear Karoo PS Community,
What a way to end the term! I hope that you are all feeling immense pride at your children and their ability to share their learning growth at our recent Student Led Conferences!
It was truly heartwarming and inspiring to see our students share their learning journeys with such confidence and pride. Thank you to all our staff for scaffolding our students to achieve their success and support them through their challenges. Thank you to all our families for supporting and celebrating this special moment with them!
Karoo Primary School is proud to celebrate one of our exceptional volunteers, Peter Ireland, who was honoured with a Knox Community Victoria Day Award 2025.
On Tuesday, 1st July – Victoria Day, Peter was officially recognised for his outstanding service to the community. At a special award ceremony, he was presented with a medal and certificate by Kim Wells, State Member for Rowville, and Nick McGowan, Member for the North Eastern Metropolitan Region.
For the past three years, Peter has generously dedicated his time each week to support our students in their learning. His positive presence and strong connections within our school community have made a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for his continued support. A heartfelt congratulations to Peter – a truly deserving recipient!
It is with great delight that I am able to share with our school community the safe arrival into the world of Elsie Edwards, the daughter of Mr Joshua Edwards. Mr Edwards is happy to share that his daughter and mum are going very well, and he is settling into the wonderful world of newborn cuddles.
In 2025, Karoo PS’s major fundraising event will be our Karoo PS Karnival, which will have amusement rides, food trucks, barista coffee, stalls, activities and performances, highlighting the skills and talents of our students and community.
The carnival will be held on Friday 7th November from 1pm – 6pm in the grounds of Karoo Primary School and will be open to all of our local community. We ask you to share with friends and family and all SAVE the DATE for a fantastic day!!
To ensure that our major fundraising event, the KPS Karnival, is a sensational success we are looking for supportive and generous sponsors or community members to make donations to support the event.
To express your interest in sponsoring the event or donating to the event to support enhancing the learning environment for our students, please share your interest through the survey below. We look forward to working together and promoting your generosity!
We can't wait to see everyone at the KPS Karnival!
I would also like to express a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful school community for your support, as I stepped into the Substantive Principal role at Karoo PS, this term. I have appreciated everyone’s kind words, encouragement and feedback immensely!
I thoroughly look forward to continuing to work with our school community to continue to enhance the learning environment for all students.
I wish everyone a safe, relaxing Term 2 holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone in Term 3!
Kind Regards,
Courtney Hoffmann
