Mr Hugh McLaughlin

A Warm Thank You

Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to our amazing Karoo community for such a warm welcome. I’ve been truly touched by the kindness of our students, the support of our parents, and the passion and commitment shown by our staff. Karoo is a vibrant, caring place to be, and I feel very fortunate to be part of it.

Melbourne City FC – City in the Community Program Coming to Karoo!

We’re excited to announce that starting in Term 3, Melbourne City FC will be delivering their City in the Community program here at Karoo Primary School!

This free program will run during school time on Mondays and is open to Grade 5(girls) and Grade 6 students for Term 3. The sessions focus on building positive social skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all through fun and engaging activities.

Students who are interested will be able to sign up through our Sports Captains, with more information to be shared early next term.

We also plan to continue the program in Term 4 for a different year level – details on this will be announced later in Term 3.

We’re looking forward to seeing our students benefit from this exciting opportunity!

Supporting Families – Positive Partnerships

We're pleased to share a great free resource for families of autistic students. Positive Partnerships offers online learning, workshops, and practical tools to help parents better understand autism and build strong partnerships with schools.

With resources available in multiple languages, it's a fantastic support for families at Karoo. Find out more at positivepartnerships.com.au.
