Foundation students have been learning about the difference between 2D and 3D art. They created some very creative 3D artwork using packing peanuts.
Year 3 and 4 students have been studying local indigenous symbols, with the support of our school KESO. They created story-tiles using clay and paints.
Time is running out — only a few weeks left to enter!
Exciting news, students! We're calling on all year levels to help bring our four school houses to life with your creativity and imagination. This is your chance to design a house mascot that will leave a lasting legacy at Karoo!
Each winning design will feature proudly on our house banners, badges, and at school sporting and spirit events for years to come — making this an incredible opportunity to be part of something memorable.
Your design should capture the pride, energy, and personality of your house:
🟡 Wyandra – Yellow 🟢 Kelbourne – Green 🔴 Murrindal – Red 🔵 Baringa – Blue
Your mascot can be an animal, character, or creature — just make sure it reflects your house spirit and our school values of Kindness, Respect, and Tenacity.
🔹 How to Enter:
1. Pick your house.
2. Collect a Mascot Design Template from your teacher or the Art Room, or download here:
3. Draw your mascot using your house colour.
4. Give it a name and a short description about what makes it special and how it represents our values.
5. Hand in your completed design to your class teacher by Monday, July 21.
🏆 The Student Leadership Team and school staff will choose finalists, then the whole school will vote for the winning mascots!
Be bold, be original — and don’t miss your chance to leave your creative mark on Karoo for years to come.
