PLASTIC FREE JULY HAS LAUNCHED AT HILLSMEADE
A huge thank you to Sistema for donating reusable containers and drink bottles for students at Hillsmeade. We have loved seeing students excited to bring their containers and proudly show off their 'nude food' lunch.
Hillsmeade staff have also been getting involved in Plastic Free July by bringing no plastic wrappers in their lunch. Congratulations to Miss Hope for winning the teacher challenge this week - no wrappers all week!
Tidy up Tuesday & Tidy up Thursday
Students have been cleaning up our yard on Tuesdays and Thursdays as part of our Plastic Free July. Well done to 1E and 6B for collecting the most rubbish this week.
What is Single Use Plastics?
Single-use plastic products (SUPs) are used once, or for a short period of time, before being thrown away. The impacts of this plastic waste on the environment and our health are global and can be drastic.
Common single use plastics are below, as well as plastic bags and coffee cups.
