Year 3 Update
Upcoming learning: Term 3, Weeks 2 & 3
During the next fortnight, Year 3 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:
Literacy To understand the structure of Information Reports and their body paragraphs. To understand how to use subject-specific vocabulary within Information Reports. To understand suffixes and the ways to make the long u vowel sound. | |
Maths To understand length and the units of measurement for length. To explore mathematics with a focus on Olympics. | |
Inquiry To understand what life was like for Aboriginal people before settlement. To understand the journey of the First Fleet. | |
Social and Emotional To explore the concept of racism and how to respond to it. |
News and reminders
Homework books: Please remind your child to bring their homework books in to their teacher on their day. See the class compass page or ask the teacher if you are unsure of the correct day. Term 3 homework grids will be distributed by teachers.
Moonlit Sanctuary Excursion: Next Thursday 1st August, the Year 3 students will be going on an excursion to Moonlit Sanctuary. Please make sure to consent and pay on compass as soon as possible.
Drink bottles: Please remember to bring a drink bottle to school every day. It saves disruption to your child's learning when this is accessible within the room. They are able to fill up their bottles in a nearby classroom.
Book Week Dress Up: Monday 19th August. Come dressed as your favourite book character. In the morning students will participate in a parade around the basketball court.
