Senior Girls Soccer

What an unbelievable week it was for our Senior Girls’ Soccer team!

Heading down to Melbourne for the State Finals, they came out firing – smashing 2 of their 3 games and finishing equal third in the whole state.

Every match was a showcase of grit, determination, and pure passion. The teamwork on the pitch was next level, and the energy never dropped, even in the toughest moments.

Representing Castlemaine Secondary College were Eve Boyd, Lucy Braszell, Amina Budnikas Ling, Georgia Bunting, Elspeth Cook, Myla Cormack, Fianna Gardner, Poppy McCahon-Tobin, Louca Nicholson, Stella Oxner, Xanthe Ryan, Kirra Tabet, Frankie Van Tiggelen, and Abi Waddington.

And let’s not forget the sideline legends – our amazing parents. Their voices were some of the loudest at the grounds, cheering, clapping, and lifting the team every step of the way.

We couldn’t be prouder of how the girls represented our school. A huge congratulations on such a massive achievement – you’ve set the bar high and shown what dedication, hard work, and teamwork can achieve.

Bonjour from France!

Bonjour from France,

My name is Olive and I am a year 10 student from CSC currently on student exchange and spending a year in the French countryside. I’m  45 minutes from Lyon and loving every minute of it. Exchange has really and truly changed my life, allowing me to grow as a person and pushing me to new heights.

I arrived in France in January during the peak of winter and safe to say it was challenging! Knowing very little language, facing cold like never before, cultural differences like “Le Bise,” driving on the other side of the road and of course the big one, being in the other side of the world from everything you know and love. Seven months in, and I have built a second life here in France, one full of friends and family all supporting me though this journey.

At the moment, I am living my Euro summer dreams, spending my days by the pool, long walks and fun adventures. I have joined French Girl Scouts and went on a 17 day hiking, canoeing and camping trip which was unforgettable. We also have plans to go to Paris and Spain later in the year.

I am sure I will never forget this amazing experience and with 5 months left until I head home, I will be soaking up as much French and host sibling cuddles as I can.

My advice to everyone at home is to accept every challenge that comes your way!

See you all soon, Olive.
