Mobile Phone Reminder

Mobile Phones ‘Off and Away' at School
This is a reminder that mobile phones must be switched off and put away during school hours (9.00am–3.15pm). This includes classrooms, hallways, lunch breaks, toilets and any other school activity.
In Term 4, we will be placing extra emphasis on this policy to support safe, positive and focused learning environments.
Non-compliance will be managed under our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support policy:
- Students using or in possession of their phone during school hours must take it to the library.
- A receipt will be issued and the phone can be collected at the end of the school day.
- If a student receives 2 incidents in one term, their parent / carer will be required to collect the phone from the College’s reception.
- Any further incidents in the same term will also require parent/carer collection from Reception.
- Students failing to comply with submitting their phone to the library, will be formally suspended, either internally or externally.
Headphones: The only occasion where headphones (including ear buds, airpods etc) are permitted is during independent work in class and with teacher permission, as long as they are connected to a laptop. Students found using these devices at any other times (including recess and lunch) will be considered to be using their phone and will be asked to take their phone to the College’s Library.
We kindly request your cooperation in reminding your child about this policy and encouraging them to leave their wireless headphones and mobile phones at home or safely stowed in their bags, not pockets, while at school.
For full details, please refer to our Mobile Phone Policy. If you have any questions, contact the school office.
