We are proud to announce that several of our EVP athletes have been selected to represent Queensland at the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships in Perth from September 21-26.
Congratulations to our state representatives:
These selections reflect not only the exceptional talent within our program but also the courage and determination these athletes showed throughout the state trial process. We are incredibly proud of their willingness to challenge themselves at the highest level and step outside their comfort zones in pursuit of representative honours.
We look forward to celebrating their experiences and achievements as they represent both Queensland and The Gap State High School on the national stage. Their selection is a testament to the strength of our development pathways and the elite competitive spirit that defines EVP culture.
The Senior Schools Cup provided our athletes with valuable competitive opportunities and showcased the depth of talent across our program. Some of our Year 9 and 10 athletes played up age groups in both the girls and the boys division and delivered standout performances. Our Year 9 and 10 girls who competed in the Year 11 Honours division secured 5th place which was an exceptional result that highlights their skill and adaptability in performing above their age standard.
Our Year 11 boys competed with heart throughout the competition, demonstrating resilience beyond their years in challenging matches. Meanwhile, our Year 12 girls successfully navigated a unique team composition, bringing together athletes from Years 9, 10, 11, and 12 to support Emily B in her final high school competition.
Our Year 12 boys exemplified everything we value about EVP culture. Despite experiencing many close, hard-fought losses, their camaraderie, competitive spirit, and genuine joy for the game shone through every match. The authentic friendship and support they showed for one another perfectly captured what it means to compete with elite character. Their approach to this final competition together was a testament to the relationships and values built throughout their time at TGSHS.
Our secondary trial for the Year 7 Elite Volleyball Program 2026 will be held on September 11th. This opportunity is available for all current Year 6 students who are interested in participating in the EVP when they enter high school in 2026.
If you would like the opportunity to be considered for our Year 7 2026 cohort, please ensure your application is submitted prior to the trial date by following this link.
We encourage all interested students and families to take advantage of this additional opportunity to join our program as there are limited places available for our future Year 7 cohort and participation at a future date cannot be guaranteed. Details regarding trial procedures and application requirements will be communicated directly to eligible participants once EVP applications have been submitted online.
