Impact Through Communication

This year’s Speech Pathology Week runs from 24 – 30 August and celebrates the power of communication in every part of life. The theme for Speech Pathology Week in 2025 is ‘Impact through Communication’.

Each day highlights a different way communication makes an impact and how speech pathologists support people to find their voice.

Day 1 - Connection through communication: How communication helps build and sustain relationships and communities.

Day 2 - Confidence through communication: Enabling people to express themselves clearly and proudly.

Day 3 - Inclusion through communication: Advocating for accessible, diverse communication for all.

Day 4 - Empowerment through communication: Helping individuals self-advocate, and make their needs known.

Day 5 - Opportunity through communication: Opening pathways in education, work, and community life.

Day 6 - Wellbeing through communication: Highlighting the link between communication and emotional, mental, and social wellbeing.

Day 7 - Independence through communicationFostering autonomy and self-expression throughout life.

Our speech pathologist works alongside students and teachers to make learning and communication more accessible for everyone. Supporting students to find their voice, participate in learning, and build meaningful friendships helps create a school where students feel included and connected.
