House Athletics Carnival

Tuesday 17 March

Huntingtower’s House Athletics Carnival took place on Tuesday 17 March at the Duncan Mackinnon Athletics Track, delivering a fantastic day of competition, athleticism, and House spirit. With ideal conditions and an enthusiastic crowd, it was a brilliant showcase of talent, determination, and teamwork.

The Carnival was alive with cheering, House chants, and support from all students, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the day. It was also wonderful to see so many parents in attendance, cheering on the students and adding to the excitement and sense of community.

Every student competed in the 100m sprint, alongside four additional track and/or field events, giving everyone a chance to contribute to their House’s success. From explosive sprints to powerful jumps, precise throws, and endurance races, students demonstrated remarkable skill, effort, and sportsmanship.

Performance levels were exceptionally high, with five athletes achieving maximum points across their events and 20 records broken across track, field, and relay competitions. The relays were particularly thrilling, with fast baton exchanges, strategic running order, and close finishes keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.

A huge thank you to the Heads of House and all staff for officiating the day, ensuring the carnival ran so smoothly. A special shout-out also goes to Ben for his tireless work in the lead-up and preparation on the day.

With such an outstanding carnival behind us, we now look forward to building on this momentum at the EISM Athletics Carnival in Term 2, where Huntingtower will once again aim to shine on both the track and in the field.
