Road Smart

Year 10 students participated in a Road Smart and Safety Workshop during their recent Explore class.

Road Smart is a free education program that helps prepare beginner drivers for a lifetime of safe driving.

Funded by the Victorian Government, Road Smart is an initiative that supports and enhances young drivers to be safer on our roads. The program uses evidence informed practices on road safety training to reduce young people’s risk as a road user and support them in their foundational stages of learning to drive. The program is designed to help our young drivers build the knowledge, skills, and behaviours in:

• Identifying personal risk and strategies to reduce risk
• Taking a stages approach to learning to drive
• The safe system (safer speeds, vehicles, roads and safer people)
• The importance of vehicle safety for young people.
