Family Connect

Paul De Boom

Chair | SMCC Family Connect

Hello everyone,

Firstly, a huge thank you to the College and Queensland Health for their proactive and collaborative approach to the recent event within the College.

Open and effective communication and the sense of community coming together as one to work through and resolve this matter was visible to not only our College community but the wider community as well.

Secondly, to date we have funded four applications which we actioned at our last meeting, Students and College staff are encouraged to contact us at smw.familyconnect@cns.catholic.edu.au if you are seeking financial support from Family Connect in 2022.

A revamped funding application with new funding limits is attached and I strongly recommend those interested review and apply.

Please find attached our most recent meeting minutes from May for your review, your feedback is always welcomed.

A big thank you to the College for the recent Parent Engagement night held on Tuesday 17th May at the College. To the parents in attendance, I hope you found it of value and the session is available on the Parent Portal for those who couldn’t make it on the night.

Family Connect Diocesan representative Marina Dunstan recently attended the CSPQ Bi-Annual conference in Brisbane providing feedback from this conference. The conference was constructive and informative with a strategic focus as a recommended consideration for all P & F’s.

Marina’s minutes are attached for your perusal.

Our next Family Connect meeting will be on Tuesday 14th June 2022 in the College Library at 5.15pm.
