NAPLAN Testing Week 3

NAPLAN tests commence Tuesday 14 May  with Writing, followed on consecutive days by Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy. Catch up sessions will be run by Mr Todman for any students absent on the scheduled day. Parents are asked to support all students preparing for the tests by ensuring they have a fully charged device and headphones each day.

 

Trade Taster Courses for Year 10 Students

Application forms are now available from Mr Todman for any Year 10 students interested in Trade Taster courses in Term 3. Grand Junction Trade Training Centre is offering Automotive (5 days) and Pre-Construction (8 days) during Term 3 and 4.

 

Work Experience at SAPOL

Students interested in a 4 day work experience opportunity with SA Police during Term 3 are invited to apply before 20 May. An application and one page expression of interest is required.

 

Defence Industry Pathways Program

This program is designed for Year 10 and 11 students interested in developing high level employability skills in manufacturing and design related to the defence industries. If you have an interest in STEM, problem solving, science, engineering, technology and mathematics this course could be for you. No course fees (supported by ASC), commences Term 3, full days Tuesdays for Semester 2. As part of the course students complete a 10 credit, Stage 1 Design and Technology course including CAD design and 3D printing.

 

Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend an information evening, 23 May, 6-7 pm.

University of Adelaide Discover Your Future Showcase

The annual Discover Your Future Showcase is coming up on Sunday 19 May, and will be held in the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building on North Terrace. This event is the main showcase of our undergraduate degrees, in Health and Medical Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry, Oral Health, Nursing and Psychology. The Adelaide Careers and Employment Expo

This is a leading careers, training, education and employment event in South Australia. The event offers the opportunity for students, job seekers and career changers to connect with organisations for guidance, clarity and opportunities in relation to career options.
